Job description
About Medme
At MedMe, we are passionate about empowering pharmacists to provide services beyond just prescribing. Our mission is to build an all-in-one cloud-based platform that enables pharmacists to schedule, document, and manage clinical services at scale. With over 4,500 pharmacies using our software, we’ve facilitated more than 25 million patient services, transforming pharmacies into community health hubs across North America.
The Gravity pod owns some of MedMe’s most critical integration workstreams — connecting pharmacies and healthcare providers to the systems and networks that keep patient care running. We own our Platform API, Medlist, PCC, and Admin Clerk, and we are the team partners come to when a new pharmacy network, health authority, or practice management system needs to talk to MedMe.
Right now, demand is outpacing our capacity. Several of our largest workstreams are carried by a single engineer each, and a significant wave of integration work is already lined up — including a health authority rollout and a new practice management system integration. We are hiring an intermediate engineer to pair on those projects, restore healthy collaboration and code review, and give us the throughput to say yes to what is coming.
The Role
We’re hiring an Intermediate Full-Stack Engineer for the Gravity pod, focused squarely on execution and delivery.
This is a hands-on build role with a tight feedback loop. You will not be the only person on your project — you will be someone’s pair, and they will be yours. We need an engineer who ships quickly without cutting corners on quality, and who uses AI development tooling as a natural part of how they work.
In your first 90 days, you’ll:
Contribute to our Platform API: Share ownership of one of our largest and most-depended-on services, working alongside its current engineer rather than in isolation.
Deliver a Health Authority Integration: Take a meaningful slice of our existing integration end to end, from scoping through production.
Restore Review and Collaboration: Bring code review, pairing, and design discussion back to a healthy cadence on projects that have been running single-threaded.
Ramp Fast on the Domain: Build enough product and pharmacy-workflow context to scope your own work and push back on requirements when something doesn’t add up.
Longer term, you’ll:
Own Integration Delivery: Take the lead on integration projects of your own — new pharmacy networks, practice management systems, and partner APIs — as our integration pipeline grows.
Raise the Delivery Bar: Improve the reliability, observability, and maintainability of the services you touch, so keeping the lights on gets cheaper over time.
Collaborate and Communicate: Join client-facing conversations, represent your work clearly, and raise concerns or ideas in broader company forums without waiting to be asked.
Grow Toward Senior: Deepen your technical ownership and mentor our interns and newer engineers as the pod scales.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
Timezone: Minimum 5-hours overlap with Toronto EST business hours (9 am to 5 pm ET). We welcome candidates based outside Canada — for example in Latin America, or any other countries as long as you can have a minimum 5-hours overlap with EST.
Experience: 2+ years of professional software engineering experience (3+ preferred).
Core Tech Stack: Strong, hands-on proficiency in Node.js, React, TypeScript, AWS, Postgres, and Kafka/SQS.
Foundations: A computer science background — solid fundamentals in data structures, APIs, and databases.
AI Fluency: AI development tooling is part of your daily workflow, and you use it to move faster without sacrificing quality.
Communication & Presence: A strong communicator who is comfortable in client-facing meetings, and not shy about raising engineering concerns in larger forums.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with NestJS framework.
Experience building or maintaining third-party integrations and partner APIs.
Prior experience in healthcare tech, HIPAA compliance, or clinical workflows.
Why Join Us
Real Ownership Early: You will own meaningful slices of production systems that thousands of pharmacies depend on — not tickets at the edges.
A Pair, Not a Silo: We staff at least two engineers per project on principle, so you will always have someone to design, review, and debug with.
Continuous Growth: We invest in your growth with a yearly stipend for education and learning, and a clear path toward senior.
AI-Fluent Culture: Work in an environment where everyone is actively leveraging AI to amplify their output.
Real-World Impact: MedMe is scaling rapidly across North America — your code will directly impact how care is delivered to millions of patients.
Perks at MedMe
Comprehensive Health Benefits: Full coverage for dental, vision, physical, and mental health, plus a health spending account (Canada only).
Group RRSP: Secure your future with our Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (Canada only).
Professional Development: A yearly budget dedicated to learning opportunities.
Work-from-Home Stipend: Support to set up and maintain your ideal home office.
Office Closure for Holidays: Enjoy 1–2 weeks of company-wide office closure during the winter holidays.
Company Retreats: Participate in exciting on-site retreats for collaboration and bonding.
The Interview Process
Intro Call with Ichwan (30 mins): Role context, your background, and mutual fit.
Take-Home Test: A practical exercise focused on your technical strengths.
Technical Interview (120 mins): Live session walking through system design and code implementation.
Team Fit Conversation (45 mins): Meet the Gravity pod, ask us anything.
