Manager, People & Culture (Onsite)
- Hybrid
- Toronto, Ontario, Canada
- CA$95,000 - CA$125,000 per year
Job description
The Opportunity
As Manager, People & Culture, you’ll be responsible for building and scaling the people foundations that support MedMe’s next stage of growth.
MedMe is scaling quickly — hiring across geographies, operating as a mix of remote and hybrid teams, and expanding into new markets. This role exists to make sure our people systems, culture, and day-to-day employee experience scale with the company without becoming heavy, expensive, or overly corporate.
You’ll own HR, people operations, and culture end to end. From onboarding and performance management, training and internal communications, to manager support, policies, and employee experience, you’ll bring structure where it’s needed and keep things lightweight where it’s not. You’ll help turn early-stage practices into repeatable systems that work across teams, time zones, and growth phases.
You’ll work closely with the executive team and founders, helping translate leadership intent into clear expectations, strong systems, and consistent ways of working across the company. While you’ll help shape things strategically, this is a hands-on, operational role where you’ll set the structure, standards, and healthy accountability that allow people to do their best work.
This role is ideal for someone who has supported a startup through rapid growth and understands how to mature people operations thoughtfully, balancing speed, clarity, compliance, and culture while staying capital-efficient.
About MedMe Health

What You’ll Do
You’ll take ownership of the People & Culture function and help evolve it as the company scales. The role balances working directly with the executive team and founders on strategy while owning hands-on people operations end to end, supported by an Operations Associate.

About You
You have 3-6 years of experience working in People Ops, HR, or a similar role
You have built core People & Culture foundations before, including onboarding, performance, manager enablement programs, compensation planning, and compliant HR policies & processes
You’ve supported teams through periods of rapid growth, including adding new roles, leaders/managers, and locations
You’re comfortable starting scrappy, then putting structure in place as things grow
You care about people, but you also believe in clear expectations and accountability
You stay up to date on modern People tooling and automation and use it to make work easier, not more complicated
You communicate clearly, handle sensitive situations with discretion, and reliably follow through
Based in Toronto and able to work in person most days; open to occasional travel throughout the year
